Emmy's 2nd Birthday Party

We had Emily's birthday party this past Sunday, instead of next Sunday on her actual birthday. It seems people tend to freak when there are birthday's around the holidays, so I tried to switch it up a bit this year. lol!

Emily had a wonderful bunch of friends and family to help her celebrate. Daddy and I made her a birthday outfit to make her day more special too. She received all kinds of Elmo goodies to go along with her Sesame Street theme. Legos and panties, books and a pop up tent. She also received some cute clothing, a Snow White princess barbie, an Elmo purse and phone and the cutest Elmo pj's.

She enjoyed every bit of the fun, especially the very yummy Elmo/Cookie Monster/Big Bird cookies. They were so cute and tasted wonderful. The icing stained our mouths and the girls went nuts with a spoon just to eat the frosting.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this little party so much fun. It means a lot to us that we could share Emmy's special day with you.

More photos from Emmy's party can be found HERE! Enjoy!

Randomness At It's Best

We've been very busy these last few weeks, which is why there are still some fifty unanswered emails in my inbox. I promise to get to you. :)

The girls are doing well, still sick, but well. Sick as in the docs are still trying different meds to control the chronic lung infections they are having. They just finished a second round of high doses of oral steroids as well. This round wasn't as productive as the first, but still some progress. They have also been upped on Pulmicort and Albuteral to four times a day. So far, not much change, but we are working on it. Please keep them in your thoughts as we try to determine the cause of these episodes. :) Thank you.

Last Friday, the girls and I were on the run all day. Errand and errand kept us in the car. We finally had a lull in between appointments, so we made a quick trip to Crown Center and Hallmark's Kaleidoscope. They love this little center and had so much fun. More photos to come from this adventure soon.

Izzy 'N Emmy

This weekend is Emmy's 2nd birthday party. Yes, can you believe my baby girl will be two?! I can't. And she's not so much a baby anymore. lol! It's a Sesame Street theme, as her love for Elmo is quite prominent these days. Of course there will be tons of photos to share.

Izzy's still practicing her ballet and is excited for class this weekend. IF you missed photos of her class last weekend, be sure to check out Our Little Ballerina.

Tmrw night, around this time, the handsome hubby and I will be in the theater waiting for the midnight showing of New Moon to start! yay!! So excited for this and have been counting down for months. Anyone else going to see it?

More updates over at Captures too. Business is slow right now, as the weather doesn't make for cozy photos. It's been very cold and rainy here. We also had our first snow of the season on Monday. Just a dusting, but enough for Izzy to wake me up, yelling out the window, "Mommy it snowed!"

Hope everyone is well and preparing for a festive holiday season. I miss reading your blogs and hope to be around soon! Thanks for checking in on us! *hugs*

Our Little Ballerina

Izabel has been attending dance class for almost 3 weeks now. With a mixture of Tap, Ballet and Modern Movement, she's fallen in love with the art.

Today was one of two opportunities we as parents will have to watch our little dancers in action. Otherwise, parents are not allowed to attend classes with their children.

Izzy has done great and is constantly twirling and skipping. She has more energy than anyone I've seen and dancing helps her to direct that energy in a positive way. Among other things, we hope this class will help Izzy to grow into a wonderful (and graceful) little princess.

Let me introduce to you, our little ballerina, Miss Izzy.

A Princess Pick-Me-Up

...Because no matter what happens in a day, there's always something beautiful to be found.

The park is a perfect place to find your peace. Where I find my peace.

To watch our girls play and run the fields is bliss. All is right with the world. There are no slides too slippery. No towers too tall. The merry-go-round turns just as fast, or slow, as you like it. You can swing high into the sky and feel the freedom of the air around you.

The park is where we go when we need a break; time to breathe.

Where do you go?

Because It Was Beautiful...

...we spent the day outside today. 70+ degrees in November calls for a special trip to the park. The girls wore sundresses and danced in the fields. They clung to monkey-bars and slipped down slides.
Daddy and Girls!

It was the perfect day to spend together and the sun was as inviting as ever. So inviting, that I had a blast capturing lens flare's. I love them each and every time I can catch them.

The girls have been feeling better too. (Fresh air no matter how sick they are is always on my agenda anyway.) They finished 3 days of very high doses of oral steroids after the 4 times a day breathing treatments weren't clearing them up fast enough. Things are looking up but I can almost be sure that we will see the pedi again next week to re-evaluate the situation. They both remain on the breathing treatments as well.

But today, we worried about nothing. *(Okay, after noon we worried about nothing. Before that, Daddy and Izzy were stranded at the car wash because our car decided to break down. UGh! No worries though, we got it fixed.) Izzy had dance class again today and is still just as in love as she was in the begining. Expect to see wonderful things from our little dancer. Emmy and I spent the morning together. I rarely see her in action without her big sis around. Emmy's quite the charmer and plays so well on her own. It was nice to be just the two of us.

We watched a beautiful sunset this evening too!
Sunset

Tonight we rented Ice Age 3 and all piled onto the floor with pillows and popcorn. It was a funny movie and for the most part, kept the girls still and focused. lol!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!!!

Winners, Loot and Another Giveaway!

The winner of the Natures Valley granola clusters was chosen via Random.org. Midlife Mom (#18), from Home On The Range is the lucky winner!!! If you've never been over to Home On The Range, go. Midlife Mom has a fabulous blog, the most beautiful decorations for every season, horses and beautiful grandkids. You'll love her!

Halloween 2009

In other "loot" news, as mentioned in the previous post, the girls made out big on Halloween. They trick-or-treated with us and Gama for about 5 hours, with a few breaks in between. Emmy was so excited about the decorations and the moon. lol! She wanted to go to the houses with lights and lit pumpkins. She did very good and said "trick-o-treat and thank you" at each house. And what's even more exciting is that she walked pretty much the whole evening.

Izzy had a hard time remembering the trick-or-treat part, until the candy was in her bag. lol! Her parting line if you will. She enjoyed it a great deal though and immediately wanted to eat whatever she was given. She was happy to be a princess and ran around the neighborhood excited about all of the other costumes she saw.
