PhotoStory Friday - Tidbits To Tell
Today's PhotoStory Friday is about my daughter Izabel. My oldest daughter, who is 3 years old.

Izabel is in another "blossoming" stage and the past few weeks have been very eye opening for me. Not only does she continue to physically look more like a little girl than a Toddler, but her brain is making leaps as well.
Little things are starting to make me realize that she's going to sprint off in no time.

Television is not only for cartoons anymore. She doesn't watch any other types of shows but today she told me who iCarly was. I didn't even know. And commercials are way more interesting than ever. She has begun the, "I want those Mommy so that I can..." stage. The infomercial for Benderoo's is a huge hit for her and insists she wants them for Christmas. Today she also mentioned wanting Sketchers. :)
Izabel is a conversationalist. She loves to talk so much that she has begun tripping herself up as she lays out her stories. "Um" is heard quite frequently these days. She can go on and on about nothing.
As does any child growing up, she insists on doing things "all by herself", unless it's cleaning up her toys. She wants to walk in the store instead of sitting in the cart. Izzy has questions for everything. I have so little answers sometimes.
When playing at the park, Izabel states to the other children, "This is my baby sister, Emily. I am sorry." Yes, she throws the apology out there right off the bat. *sigh*

Izabel and I spend a lot of time together, especially of late. She wants her toes painted, her fingernails trimmed, her hair braided and her clothes to match. She loves to play beauty shop and brush Mommy's hair and constantly wants to pretend cut. Ha!
She's not my little first born anymore. She's a little girl who has idea's of her own and a will stronger than most. I complain now but she is going to go far.
As far as Medical School, so she says. Izabel wants to be a doctor. Not an astronaut, so she can fly to the moon, or a teacher, or even a dancer. A doctor.
I am so proud of her and who she is becoming. I am so glad to be her Mommy.
Izabel was not accepted into the pre-schools we were on the waiting list for. Some were too full and others she was simply too advanced for and those spots were needed for other kids. After meeting with and talking to Izzy's PATS teaches, Daddy and I have decided to keep Izzy out of pre-school this year and focus on a homeschooling regimen at home. I would have loved to send her to any one of my top picks but, at $6000 a year in tuition, we had to say no.
It's not the end of the world, Izzy learns very quickly and this will help her to be even more ready next year, should we make a list then. She's writing letters these days to her family and loves to read. (I mean as in "Dear Jane, How are you?" letters.) We are encouraging her in reading and writing right now, working on large numbers and the solar system. She knows her planets pretty well. Daddy and I will continue to go through several subjects and projects to keep her brain going.
It should be fun and if it's possible to send her to one of the more exclusive pre-schools next year, than she will have a good start on the curriculum.

I ♥ Tucker- 33 Days Post Surgery
Tucker is still holding pretty much the same pattern as he has over the last couple of days. We are still hoping for progress off the vent.
While there hasn't been much to update, I do know that yesterday they started a new heart medication. The new med is suppose to help the heart relax but it also messes with Tucker's Blood Pressure. Tucker needs high BP right now to keep the fluid off of his heart and lungs. It also helps Tucker to pee out all of the extra fluid. If I understood correctly, there are still some wet x-rays and the vent settings were not moving down much.
It's hard to see Tucker right now. Mommy says that the past 33 days have taken a toll on Tuck's body. IV spots are black and blue with bruising, especially his groin where they have entered during two heart caths. Of course the chest his trying to heal as well. Tucker also has some kind of rash that may be a result of the antibiotic that they put him on when cultures came back with indication of an infection a few days ago. And lastly, his eyes are still in the process of healing.
As mentioned in earlier updates, Tucker has some small ulcers on his eyes. I believe this is a result of his eyes not being completely closed during this hospital stay while he's been mostly under and sedated. I know eye drops are being administered in hopes of clearing them up.
This is all I have for the moment. I can't thank you all enough for continuing to check in on Tucker and his family. I know the updates aren't as fun (and constant) but Tucker is stable and just needs time to come off of the vent. This is the most important step towards progress. Notches on the vent are coming down, but it doesn't take much for them to come back up with the slightest complication.
Tucker is a strong boy and will be up and out of that bed in no time. Mommy and Daddy are anxious to hold their son and his sister is more than ready to hand out piggy back rides again. All in good time; Tucker Time.
Today, I am leaving you with some photos that I took of Tucker just days before he left for Boston. Enjoy!

Sunday Citar - Water.Sand.Sunshine

Saturday we spent the day at the lake again. This time Daddy came with us and we had so much fun! The water is the perfect temperature this time of year and the girls cannot get enough of the sand and water.
Gama and Papa even made a surprise visit and took us for Ice Cream afterward. It was a lovely day spent with family.

PhotoStory Friday - Barn Tales
This evening, Daddy and I took the girls to one of our favorite State Parks. My goal was to practice shooting some photographs with various props. I used one of the three props and I'll showcase them at a later date.
The best finds of the night were a beach and a barn on the side of the road. Both were great for taking some photos of my beautiful princesses. It wasn't until we were about to leave that Izabel really started participating for me.
Standing at the top of this hill, Izabel stood next to the barn and shouted.
Someone shouted back. Izabel grinned and was really surprised.
Izabel shouted a second time.
Again, someone answered.
For almost 30 minutes, Izabel played with her echo and gave me some of the happiest photos I have of her. She was so amused and giddy and was convinced that she was "playing with a girl across the field." The vibrations of her voice were actually bouncing back from another barn across the way.
Emily was very content to watch this echo game and quietly stood amazed at the game her sister was playing. Eventually she sat down to piddle in the grass and Izzy sat down next to her. I mention this only because I was more than 30 feet away shooting photos. No posing was done on our part.
I hope they continue to gravitate towards one another as they get older. Enjoy the photos!

Renovations
Things look a bit different around here don't they? Do you like it? It was a bit overwhelming for myself when I first made the changes, but with more tweeking, I find that I like this layout. My main focus was to change the dimensions so that I can showcase my photos on a larger scale. In the process of accomplishing that, I had to move all of those wonderful, eye catching sidebars to the bottom. You can still scroll down and check out my tweets about Tucker, view my favorite blogs, sift through the archives and subscribe via FeedBurner.
I've also added some links under the header. There you will be able to get where you want to go and should provide for easier navigation.
As for our Princesses, the playgrounds are where we have been spending our days and evenings. The weather is starting to heat up again, but the breeze has been beautiful. Tonight we intend on hitting a nice field to play in. I've got a few capture ideas floating around in my head and I need some practice. I hope the farmers haven't mowed yet. :)

Thursday Thirteen - Favorites, Sans Kids
Capturing photos that do not involve my children are few and far in between. They are the best subjects anyone could ask for.
However, I've been trying to expand my horizons and capture more of my surroundings and nature's beauty. This week, I'm going to share with you Thirteen of my favorites from the last year, in no particular order.
*Some of these photos are watermarked with a logo/name I thought I was going to use. It's no longer, but I didn't want to track down the originals for this post.
